Make Some Noise: How to Embrace Your “Too Muchness”

Join me on the Make Some Noise podcast with Andrea Owen. If you’re somebody who thinks you’re too much and struggles with speaking up, this one’s for you. Later in the episode we also have a very candid conversation about Christianity and our views on it.

“What does it look like to stand in your power? That’s what’s important to me! It’s not that you’re always speaking up and the first person to speak. Hell, some of the most powerful women I’ve ever met in my life were women of very few words, but when they spoke, the room shifted.”

Women tend to be seen negatively when they’re perceived as angry, aggressive and powerful. These are just emotions though, neither good nor bad. In fact, anger can be powerful when used with precision. The question to ask is, what are you doing with your anger? Does it have purpose, or are you just a ticking time bomb ready to go off about everything?

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • My personal story of how I came to my work as a leadership coach and owner of a sensual movement studio in Chicago. (4:54)

  • Anger’s purpose and why women are perceived (and misunderstood) as angry and what we can do about it. (7:42)

  • How a woman can embrace her ‘too-muchness’ “You weren’t put on this Earth to blend into the background.” (20:59)

  • Unshakeable leadership – what it is and some ways women can harness it. (30:33)

  • We discuss Christianity, self-awareness, and how our spirituality evolved over time. (36:34)
